What We Evaluate

  • Your work will be evaluated across the core areas that matter in a professional bench environment:

  • Overall workmanship and accuracy

  •  Soldering control and structural integrity

  •  Stone security and proper care

  •  Tool selection, control, and bench safety

  •  Organization, efficiency, and problem-solving

  •  Filing, finishing, and final quality control

  • Specific assignments are not disclosed before the evaluation.

Understanding Your Results

Following your evaluation, you’ll receive a detailed scorecard covering the core areas assessed, along with a one-on-one review of your performance.

We’ll explain what you completed successfully, identify anything that would require correction before being considered customer-ready, and recommend areas for additional practice or instruction.

Materials and Test Pieces

All required practice pieces, simulated stones, findings, and testing materials are provided by 585 Gallery. Standard bench tools and equipment are also provided, so you do not need to bring personal equipment unless instructed otherwise.

All completed and unfinished test pieces, unused materials, filings, and scrap remain the property of 585 Gallery and do not go home with the participant. Evaluations are never performed on customer-owned jewelry.

How Purchasing and Scheduling Work

Select your evaluation, complete the registration form, and submit payment online. During registration, you’ll provide the dates and general times that work best for you.

Submitting a preferred date does not automatically confirm your appointment. A member of the 585 Gallery team will contact you to coordinate and confirm your final evaluation date and start time.

Important Information

Bench Test Evaluations are independent skills assessments provided by 585 Gallery. They are not official evaluations from any other employer.

Completing an evaluation does not provide professional certification and does not guarantee employment, promotion, job placement, or admission into a 585 Gallery training program.
